FOXBORO – Danny Amendola returned to the practice field Monday after missing much of last week with an undisclosed minor injury.

In the Patriots locker room Monday afternoon, Amendola proclaimed himself good-to-go.

“It felt great, just getting the work done and getting ready for the Giants this week and Week 1 next week,” said Amendola. “Looking forward to it.”

Amendola believes he’s in a good spot with his preparation right now, saying, “I’m not concerned. We’ve had a lot of good reps this camp so far and we’re going to continue to work and continue to get better. I’m always ready to get reps. As many reps as we need to get it right, or get on the same page, I’m down for. We’re getting good reps in practice and getting work done right now.”

Amendola was pleasant but far from candid in his meeting with reporters, speaking in generalities and staying on message about looking forward to improving for the opener against the Bills in 13 days.

“I felt good today. Everybody was flying around, everybody looked good. Coming off a couple days off, we were ready to get back at it. So it was a good day,” Amendola said. He later added, “I didn’t get in the NFL to practice the whole time. I’m ready for Week 1 to come around and these games to start rolling around. I’m ready.”
