Rob Gronkowski is in the running to be, as far as gamers are concerned, one of the faces of the NFL this season.

The Patriots tight end was one of four finalists to be considered for EA Sports' Madden NFL 16, and now he's been selected as one of the final two candidates. The choice between Gronkowski and Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will be announced Wednesday at 6 p.m. Voting is still ongoing.

The other two candidates originally considered were Steelers wideout Antonio Brown and and Cardinals corner Patrick Peterson.

Previous Madden cover boys include Eddie George (Madden 2001), Daunte Culpepper (2002), Marshall Faulk (2003), Michael Vick (2004), Ray Lewis (2005), Donovan McNabb (Madden NFL 06), Shaun Alexander (07), Vince Young (08), Brett Favre (09), Troy Polamalu and Larry Fitzgerald (10), Drew Brees (11), Peyton Hillis (12), Calvin Johnson (13), Barry Sanders and Adrian Peterson (25th anniversary) and Richard Sherman (15).
