Eli Manning doesn't like what the Saints did. Not one single bit, mister. Mario Manningham says "thanks" to Bill Belichick for stressing that it was Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz the Patriots wanted to focus on during the Giants final Super Bowl drive. Know what? Despite what Belichick said on the sideline prior to the drive, the message was not "Let Manningham run around by himself." And the tight coverage on the game's pivotal play indicated that. Terrific column by Gerry Callahan in the Herald on the Saints thing. (I can't bring myself to "-gate" this . . . anyone for "Scrutiny on the Bounty"?) Worth noting that the writers in New Orleans are smart to point the finger at all the Saints involved and not just scapegoat Gregg Williams. Here's the 27th pick for the Patriots in April. They'll never do it, but . . .
Tiger Woods, recovering from his fourth back surgery in the last three years, was arrested on DUI charges Monday morning in Jupiter, Fla.
Woods, 41, is the winner of 79 PGA tournaments in his career (including 14 majors). He was stopped this morning at around 3 a.m. and booked at 7:18 a.m. He was released on his own recognizance at 10:50 a.m.
Physical problems have plagued Woods in recent years, but he said last week "unequivocally, I want to play professional golf again." However, he will need months to recover from his most recent surgery.
