Patrice Bergeron suffered an upper body injury over the last few days while playing in Switzerland for HC Lugano, but is physically fine according to a source close to the Bruins center.

The reigning Selke Trophy winner missed Wednesdays game for Lugano due to the injury, which has left him in a day-to-day situation while playing in Switzerland. But the injury appears to be minor in nature and should allow him to jump back into the lineup within the next few days as his status is day-to-day. Bergeron has six goals and five assists and is sporting a plus-13 after only five games with the Swiss-A club while tearing up the countryside with former Bs teammate Glen Metropolit.

Bergeron also scored a goal in Luganos victory over Tyler Seguins HC Biel squad when the two Bs linemates played against each other last weekend for the first time in their hockey careers.

Whatever ailment Bergeron is suffering from is the second injury to crop up for a Bruins player this week after Tuukka Rask exited a Czech League game with a tweaked groin muscle on Tuesday night. Bergeron battled through a torn oblique muscle during the final few games of the season that worsened during the playoff series against the Washington Capitals, but said that injury was 100 percent healed when he showed up in Boston for Bruins captains practice in September.
