McQuaid (concussion) finally feeling like himself

Adam McQuaid missed the entire playoff series against the Washington Capitals with a concussion that he suffered during the regular season, and theres no doubt his size and strength was missed.

There was also concern because the Bruins defenseman attempted to return from his head injury during the regular season, but he lasted just one period in a road game against the Ottawa Senators before pulling the plug. The concussion stemmed from a March 29 hit at the hands of Washington forward Jason Chimera when the Caps winger charged McQuaid from behind after hopping over the bench and making a B-line for the defenseman.

There was concern how long McQuaid's post-concussion symptoms would linger into the offseason, especially since he's suffered multiple concussions in his young NHL career.

The rugged blueliner told CSNNE.com that hes been clear of concussion symptoms for the last two weeks, and he has been feeling good while resuming his normal workouts.

Ive been feeling like myself pretty much for a few weeks now, said McQuaid. Im feeling pretty good and starting to ramp up the training. Everything has been good thus far.

The 6-foot-5, 209-pounder finished last season with 10 points (2 goals and 8 assists) in 72 games while also finishing with a plus-16 rating and a growing reputation as one of the most fearsome punchers in the game.

The concussion stuff is perhaps a greater concern for a player that relies so much on his physicality, but it would appear the 25-year-old is well on his way to going through a full, healthy offseason.
