Caron returning to the P-Bruins lineup

The Boston Bruins might be getting some reinforcements for a third line thats been looking for an offensive spark. Winger Jordan Caron finished last season on a hot streak for Boston and was a contributor during the playoffs, but suffered an upper body injury in early January just prior to the NHL lockout ending.

Its believed the injury was a shouldercollarbone issue and it kept him out of the lineup close to three weeks.

Caron was expected to be invited to NHL training camp and hold the inside track on the left wing spot on the third line, but the injury pushed him out of the running for both as he worked his way back to health.

The 2009 first round pick is healthy again, however, and will be returning to the Providence Bruins lineup tonight for the first time since Jan. 4, according to a Providence Journal report. Caron had six goals and eight points in 31 games for Providence along with a minus-6 rating in a performance that wasnt wowing the Bruins staff during the lockout, and had two goals and four points in the last 25 games.

The Bruins staff will obviously be watching the 22-year-old Caron closely as he returns from the injury, and the possibility exists that the forward will be called back up to Boston if he impresses in his return from Providence.

Theres a thought process that Bostons third line could use the size and strength around in the net thats at the heart of the 6-foot-2, 202-pound Carons game. Its clear they need something with zero goals and a combined minus-8 from Chris Bourque, Rich Peverley and Chris Kelly in their first four games of the season.
