PHILADELPHIA - The final day of practice with the Eagles on Thursday prior to preseason opener Friday night was a walkthrough/situational practice.

Cloudy at the start with increasing sun. Hot and humid by the end with temperatures in the mid-80s.
Shorts and shells
Ras-I Dowling, Jermaine Cunningham, Michael Jenkins, Mark Harrison, Nate Ebner, Brandon Ford, Marcus Cannon, Dan Connolly, Marcus Zusevics, Tyronne Greene, Kevin Haslam, Armond Armstead and Rob Gronkowski.
Walkthrough and stretching followed by positional work for the first 30 minutes. The team’s joined up at about 10:50 for red zone goal line work followed by a lot of special teams situational stuff (squib kicks). After more 7-on-7 goal line stuff, it was back to kickoff situations then some end-of-game or half situational stuff. The two teams practiced for a loooong time in 11-on-11 going until nearly 12:30 p.m.

Everybody. It’s a walkthrough
Nobody. It’s a walkthrough.
Both teams have worked exceedingly hard over the past three days and will have a well-earned rest coming up after the game Friday night. They’ve gone for nearly 7.5 hours of practice.
We got some insight during the walkthrough portion of the practice who the starters will be Friday night, or at least the 1s. On offense, the wideout sets will vary but it’s Aaron Dobson, Josh Boyce and Danny Amendola with Zach Sudfeld as the move tight end. Shane Vereen, Kenbrell Thompkins, Leon Washington, Daniel Fells, Jake Ballard and Julian Edelman are also in the mix currently.
Jeff Tarpinian came up with a Stephen Gostkowski squib kick that slammed off the heel of an Eagles player. A different wrinkle on the onsides operation.
A number of players were hustling to get over to the Cubs-Phillies game this afternoon as practice wrapped up.
Tom Brady had a lengthy CBS interview after practice.
Daniel Fells has gotten lost in the mix a little with the buzz about Zach Sudfeld and the concern about Jake Ballard but right now, he’s the most likely Gronk replacement to me. Sudfeld is not going to be big enough, it seems, to reliably block at a high level in the running game. I could be wrong on that but it’s worth watching for Friday night.
“It has to be.  We certainly can't petition the league for a fifth preseason game. So we're bound by what we've got.  So, we never look at it as I wish I could have had this, I wish I could have had that.  This has been our plan.  I've said it all along.  It's very difficult to evaluate somebody in just helmets and shorts.  That's not how the game is played.” – Eagles coach Chip Kelly when asked if he’ll see enough in the preseason to decide between Michael Vick and Nick Foles.
