Welker responds to drops in win over Texans

FOXBORO -- The Patriots decisive 42-14 win over the Texans was a clinic. Offensively, they dominated. Against one of the top-ranked defenses in the league, New England made 27 first downs and compiled 419 yards of total offense.

"Well we know we have the capability of doing it," said Welker. "And we just went out there and executed the best we could and try to roll it out there."

But it wasn't perfect.

"I felt like we left a lot of plays out there for sure."

In a game full of shining performances, Welker's was less than sterling. He had three catches for 52 yards, but he dropped four passes -- a rarity for one of the league's receptions leaders.

"Just, you know, bad plays," Welker said of his drops. "You've got to move on to the next ones and keep your confidence going and dont let it get in your head. I didn't do a very good job of that tonight and I've just got to work on it this week and come back stronger next week."

There's plenty to be confident about after such a decisive win over the team with the best record in the AFC. They will play the NFC West-leading San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night.

"Any time we get a win like this its great for the team," Welker said. "And hopefully we just keep building off of this and keep playing well."
