Welker calls Bountygate audio ‘disturbing'

Count Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker among those who believes former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams crossed the line when encouraging his players to injure opposing players.

Appearing on ESPN Radio, Welker was asked what he thought of the now infamous of audio recording of Williams encouraging his defensive players to "Kill the head and the body will die."

Its kind of tough to hear because thats your job and thats what you do, said Welker appearing on ESPN Radio. To hear somebody wanting to actually physically injure someone is pretty unheard of, for me. Ive heard of things like rewards for interceptions, but Ive never heard of actually intentionally going after somebodys ACL or head or anything else to try to injure them.

Williams is currently suspended indefinitely for his role in the Saints bounty program, while the players involved are still waiting for a decision on their fate.
