Stallworth: Pats not focused on New Orleans yet

FOXBORO -- It's been five years since Donte' Stallworth wore a Patriots jersey at Gillette Stadium. Wednesday night he returned to the turf, wearing No. 18 instead of 19, but happy nonetheless.
"It's special," he said of New England. "It's a great fan base here. It's always been that way as long as I can remember. It's a great area. Mr. Kraft is one of the best owners in all of sports and Coach Belichick has had a lot of success here. The fans cherish that and we try to put out a good product on the field."
The next step forward is an important one.
In less than seven days, New Orleans will land in Foxboro for joint practices. Training camp only just began and yet it's almost time for intersquad action...
Stallworth put on the brakes on that too-quick thinking.
"I think our plan's being put in place now. We're not necessarily focused on the Saints now. We're still focusing on ourselves, trying to get ourselves better -- running the routes better in practice, running different plays, different schemes."
Is there any worry, though, that New Orleans might be moving at a quicker pace? The Saints will have already played in August 5's Hall of Fame game by the time they arrive in New England.
Stallworth believes the Patriots can make up the difference.
One day at a time.
"They will have already played a game and that's huge, but that's what preseason's for, that's what training camp's for. Right now we're just working. Today should be a good day for us. It's good weather, the fans are out, and we're looking forward to having a good day."
