Shiancoe to IR; Winslow fails physical

FOXBORO -- The Patriots sure look like they know what they're doing.
With new tight end Michael Hoomanawanui on the practice field Wednesday, Visanthe Shiancoe was indeed sent to the IRDesignated to return, according to a source.
The same source confirms that tight end Kellen Winslow, who New England brought in Tuesday for a workout, failed his physical because of his notoriously bad right knee.
Winslow underwent reconstructive surgery on the knee after a motorcycle accident in 2005. He's had several procedures in the years since and has missed plenty of field time because of it.
"I'm on one leg out there, but it's all about helping your team out there. You can hurt later," he had said after Tampa's October 16 win over New Orleans last season.
