Report: Patriots add UDFA Brad Herman

The Patriots picked up another undrafted free agent in tight end Brad Herman.
The 6-4, 253-pounder comes to New England from the Iowa Hawkeyes, whose offensive line is held in check by former Patriots TE coach Brian Ferentz; yet another NCAA-to-NFL channel for Bill Belichick to enjoy. Herman's teammate Markus Zusevics, offensive tackle, joined New England earlier Saturday night.
"What most NFL teams want out of the tight end is pretty much the way it's played in Iowa," Herman told the Peoria Journal-Star Wednesday before the draft. "NFL teams don't have to teach an Iowa tight end how to play the position."
Primarily a blocker, Herman played in 12 games with three starts for the Hawkeyes last year. He had eight catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns.
Chris Price of WEEI.com had the first report.
