In to fill the void? Former Patriots backup Brian Hoyer.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Hoyer worked out for the Steelers on Tuesday and the team plans to sign him.
The Steelers also are expected to sign receiver Plaxico Burress, per La Confora.
