Pats close draft with WR Ebert

The Patriots came into the draft with just a handful of picks.

They left it with seven prospects after making a number of trades. On Saturday, they shipped their fifth-rounder (which they got the previous day from Green Bay) BACK to Green Bay in exchange for a sixth- and two seventh-rounders.

With their final pick, number 28 in the seventh round (235 overall), the Patriots selected Northwestern receiver Jeremy Ebert. Ebert is listed a 6'0, 195 lbs and led Northwestern in receptions for two seasons.

He was a preseason All-Big Ten pick in 2011, and became just the fifth player in NU history to surpass 2,000 career receiving yards.

The Patriots have shored up their receiving corp this offseason and Ebert brings some youth to an improved but aging squad.
