FOXBORO -- Tom Brady threw for 340 yards and three touchdowns, while also running one into the end zone on his own, during the Patriots' 52-28 Week 4 win over the Buffalo Bills.
But according to Bill Belichick, things aren't the same since that game back on Sept. 30.
"It looks like they've changed up a little bit of their defensive scheme the last couple weeks," said the Patriots' coach on Wednesday. "They've added a few new wrinkles. They still have a lot of good players on the defensive side of the ball. They stripped the ball from us three times in the first game. We threw five interceptions last year. So, they're a ball-hawking team. They've done that very well against us.
Belichick is unsure as to whether or not the Bills will continue to mix it up against them on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. But if they do, the Patriots will be ready for a different look.
"They've jumped into a couple different fronts," said Belichick. "They've mixed their coverages a little bit differently. I'm not saying it's revolutionizing the game of football, but relative to what they were doing and what we had seen. They're playing maybe a little more base, maybe a little more nickel. But, I don't know if that's how they'll play us or not. That's really hard to say. Just because they've done something different against another team, we might get a lot more of it, or we might not get any of it. But just watching them on film before we played them the first time, and then watching them on film this time before we played them, I'd say they're playing more base defense, more nickel, some variations of fronts, a little more structure."
