The Patriots announced on Tuesday that they have signed defensive back Malcolm Williams to the practice squad.

Williams was released from the Patriots 53-man roster on Nov. 17 after being signed off the practice squad and playing as a reserve in New England's win over St. Louis. Used mostly as a special teamer, the 24-year-old spent time on New England's practice squad earlier this season after being released following training camp.

Drafted in the seventh round out of Texas Christian University in 2011, Williams rotated between the practice squad and the 53-man roster last season, appearing in two regular season games and all three postseason games.
