The Patriots announced on Tuesday morning that they have signed defensive lineman Jason Vega. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Vega, 25, grew up in Brockton and played at Northeastern. The 6-foot-4, 255 pounder, has played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL for the last two seasons. He made 66 tackles and added 12 sacks in his time north of the border.

Vega is the second player the Patriots have signed away from the CFL this offseason. Last month, they picked up 6-foot-5, 300-pound defensive lineman Armond Armstead, who was a CFL All-Star for the Toronto Argonauts last season.
