Patriots release Salas, activate Zusevics

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Four hours before kickoff, the Patriots announced Markus Zusevics' activation to the 53-man roster from the reservenon-football injury list.
The team also released wide receiver Greg Salas.
Zusevics, a 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive lineman out of Iowa, was signed as a rookie free agent on May 10 of this year. The 23-year-old was designated a reserve on August 27.
The Patriots have lately been lacking for depth along the line. Left guard Logan Mankins was ruled out Wednesday for tonight's game, and three others -- guard Dan Connolly, tackle Sebastian Vollmer, and Nick McDonald -- were on the injury report as "questionable." Connolly was inactive for last Sunday's game against the Colts.
As for Salas, his only snaps of the season came against Indianapolis, and there were six at that. He's been yo-yo'd between the practice squad, inactive list, and 53-man roster since New England traded for him with St Louis on September 1.
