FOXBORO -- Stephen Gostkowski, who had tied the game with a 43-yard field goal as time expired in the fourth quarter, kicked a 48-yarder with 3:58 elapsed in overtime, and Rob Ninkovich forced -- and recovered -- a Mark Sanchez fumble on New York's subsequent possession, allowing the Pats to escape with a 29-26 victory Sunday at Gillette Stadium.

Game summary and statistics

The Pats had blown a 23-13 lead in the fourth quarter, falling behind 26-23 when Nick Folk kicked his third field goal of the game with 2:06 to play. But Tom Brady drove the Patriots from their own 21 to the Jets 25 in the final two minutes, setting the stage for Gostkowski's heroics . . . in both regulation and overtime.
