Patriots pursuing Revis, but trade seen as highly unlikely

The Patriots have been in the market for an All-Pro cornerback almost from the day Ty Law walked away, and now one is available for trade.

But don't hold your breath waiting for Darrelle Revis to arrive in Foxboro.

CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman reports that since the Jets let it be known that they'd entertain offers for Revis, "one of the biggest potential trade markets for a player ever" is building. He quoted a general manager as saying: "There's a Revis gold rush forming" and among the prospectors are the Broncos, 49ers, Bills, Seahawks, Packers . . . and Patriots.

However, Freeman writes: "Not even the Jets, who have made some screwy decisions over the years, would trade Revis to the division-rival Patriots and, in the process, hand them a Super Bowl."
