FOXBORO -- Aaron Hernandez (ankle) practiced on Thursday and Friday, but he will not play in today's game against the Broncos as he's been announced as inactive by the Patriots.

Linebacker Dont'a Hightower, who told the media he would be a game-time decision because of a hamstring injury, has also been ruled inactive.

Other Patriots inactives include receiver Julian Edelman (hand) and safety Steve Gregory (hip), who were ruled out for today's game on Friday's injury report.

Offensive lineman Matt Tennant, tight end Michael Hoomanawanui and defensive end Jake Bequette are also out.

Rob Gronkowski (hip) and Logan Mankins (calfhip) were limited in practice this week, but both are active.
