Paoletti: Warren to re-sign with Patriots

The New England Patriots will re-sign defensive lineman Gerard Warren, according to a source.

Warren was one of the free agents the team left to deal with after the 2012 NFL Draft. Though the Patriots did pick up an undrafted free agent D-tackle, Marcus Forston out of Miami, bringing back Warren reinforces the line with a veteran presence.

The 10-year tackle has played in 28 games for the Patriots over the last two seasons. In 2011, Warren kicked in contributions in reserve role and played in sub packages.

Though the terms of the new deal have not been released, a one-year contract hovering around the veteran minimum would make sense.
