Devin McCourty had an up-and-down day as New England's kick returner on Sunday, but he still earned the AFC's Special Teams Player of the Week award after helping the Patriots beat the Jets, 29-26, in Week 7.

The highlight of the day for McCourty was his 104-yard kick return for a touchdown against the Jets, trying the score, 7-7, in the first quarter.

However, McCourty also had one of the Patriots' biggest gaffes of the day when he fumbled a kickoff return in the fourth quarter. The Jets took over possession on New England's 18-yard line and went on to kick a field goal to take a 26-23 lead. The Patriots went on to win in overtime, but McCourty's turnover didn't exactly make it easy on them.

The award is McCourty's first Player of the Week Award of his career.
