Mankins doesn't make trip to Buffalo

If the Patriots are going to handle the heat of the Buffalo defensive line, they're going to have to do it without the services of Logan Mankins.

Mankins, still suffering from a hip injury, did not make the trip to Buffalo with the team. Mankins had been listed as questionable for the game.

Friday night the possibility was raised that Mankins may not be able to play, and now the Patriots face the prospect of trying to protect Tom Brady without their best offensive lineman. Ryan Wendell is the backup on the depth chart.

The injury raises serious concerns about the ability to keep Brady upright on Sunday, as the Patriots will already have to use a less-than-healthy Rob Gronkowski on the outside.
