Law: Looks like disciplinary problems with Welker

Share

Reasons abound as to why Wes Welker didn't start against the Cardinals Sunday. Maybe the Patriots are looking to see what they have in Julian Edelman. Maybe Edelman earned a spot over Welker with his play in practice and in training camp. Maybe the Patriots simply are trying to keep Welker fresh.

Or maybe Welker's being disciplined.

That's what Ty Law thinks, at least. On Sports Sunday Law told Michael Felger that it looks like the Patriots receiver is being punished.

"Something is happening internally that we don't know about and we probably will never know," Law said. "All we can do is speculate because Wes Welker was not your starting receiver -- who's led not just your team but the whole league in receptions the last five years -- that's not in the starting lineup that tells me it's some type of disciplinary problems that's going on."
