Gostkowski plans to have short memory on Sunday's miss

FOXBORO -- We all know what happened the last time the Patriots and Ravens played.

Billy Cundiff missed a 32-yard field goal, with 11 seconds left, that sent New England to the Super Bowl.

As the two teams enter a rematch from last year's AFC Championship Game, the Patriots do so coming off a loss in which their kicker -- Stephen Gostkowski -- missed a 42-yard field goal, with one second left, resulting in an Arizona Cardinals win on Sunday.

Sitting in his locker at Gillette Stadium prior to Wednesday's practice, Gostkowski said he's not going to let one bad kick affect his psyche entering Sunday night's game in Baltimore.

"What I did last week or Week 1 or whatever, will not affect me the next game, negatively or positively," said Gostkowski. "You just move on. If you do well, you can get too big of a head. And if you do bad, you can get down on yourself. You've just got to have a short memory. And if you want to last long on a team or in the NFL, you've got to have a short memory, good or bad."

"Stuff happens, and you've got to move on. I've had too much success kicking to let one bad kick ruin me for another week . . . I just focus on kicking well against Baltimore. You don't dwell on the past, good or bad. You just move on."
