Faux controversy of the day: Phillips vs. Welker

When Michael Felger wants to know what the big deal is, you know that something's being made out of nothing.
But here's the nothing, as stated by Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips:
"Welker's not AJ Green. He's a good player, but he's not that big or a real athletic guy. He's a quick guy that gets open on option routes. Brandon Harris actually played him pretty good . . . If we don't get him on a speed guy, we're in good shape."
And it became something: Phillips and the Texans dissing Welker. The crescendo became so overwhelming that Phillips finally had to walk it back -- whatever it was -- on Twitter:
Wes Welker is a great athlete and one of the best receivers of all time. twistthataround.
And Felger, among others, was baffled.
"What did he say here that was demeaning?" he asked Thursday om 'Uno's Sports Tonight'. "I'm actually trying to find it."
