Brown on impact losing Bye can have on Patriots

By now you know: The Patriots lost to the 49ers, and dropped out of the No. 2 seed. It now belongs to Denver, and will stay theirs unless they lose.

So how much harder will it be for New England if they have an extra game and can't host the second round of games? Troy Brown was asked that question on Sports Tonight.

"Very, very. It's one less game you have to play and especially when you look at a team that has been a little beat up by injuries like the New England Patriots, every week that you get to rest is important. Any time you can get a free win, it's important."

Brown cited his team's trouble in 2006 when the Pats had to travel to San Diego and then Indianapolis the week after. They didn't make it out of Indy.
