The annual event "A Salute to the Titans" is appropriately named.

Friday, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady joined Joe Montana, Steve Young, Aaron Rodgers, and Jim Plunkett to support former 49ers offensive linemen Harris Barton's foundation, "Champion Charities."

"Harris' ability to get us all together is incredible no matter what the circumstances," Young told MercuryNews.com. "The fact it happens to be for a good cause, too, makes it that much better."

Barton's mission, inspired alter losing both his parents to brain tumors, is to raise funding for the University of California, San Francisco's research efforts on the disease.

According to the Champion Charities website, the "Titans" breakfast honors "an individual(x) that has made a lasting impact in the worlds of businesssports and philanthropy."

"These legends truly define what being a 'champion' is for all," the site adds.

Unsurprisingly, assembling such a quarterback quintet has created quite a stir; tickets sold out immediately and the location of the event has not been disclosed for fear "party crashers" might show up.
