The Patriots have a short week to prepare for their Thanksgiving game against the Jets, but on Monday, New England's tight ends were the focus.
Bill Belichick's conference call was all of two minutes old before the first question came.

"I don't really have anything," New England's coach said. "Our medical people are looking at all the players today when they come in, trying to assess their situations as they always do on Monday. I'll catch up with them."
There's been debate by fans and analysts alike about whether or not Gronkowski should have even been on the field when the injury occurred. At the time, New England had scored yet again to go up on the Colts. Gronkowski was in to block on the extra point.
Belichick was asked why the invaluable tight end was out there.
"It's one of his roles and jobs of the game," Belichick said.
Mention of Gronkowski's consistent spot on the injury report thanks to a hip injury did little to inspire regret in the coach. Special teams is serious business.
"It's an important job, whoever does it," Belichick concluded.
He had just as much information to offer regarding Aaron Hernandez, who's been struggling to get over a Week 2 ankle injury. At least one report has Hernandez returning for Thursday's Jets game.
Belichick wouldn't touch it.
"I don't know," Belichick said. "We'll see what players are playing probably later on in the week. We think we'll be able to project what they do in practice. We take it day by day."
