Belichick: Pats released Winslow for ‘personal reasons'

FOXBORO -- Bill Belichick and Kellen Winslow had a talk on Thursday. After that talk, the Patriots coach made more than just a business decision.

Winslow was released from New England before Thursday's practice, after just one game with the team. On Friday, Belichick gave his reasoning for the roster move.

"Yesterday, I had a discussion with Kellen," said Belichick. "And at the end of that discussion -- we talked about several different things -- and at the end of that discussion, I felt that it was best that we release Kellen for personal reasons. So, that's what we did."
