Another tough test for Patriots defense

Kevin Walsh looks ahead at what figures to be another tough test for the New England Patriots defense. Rookie standout Andrew Luck and the Colts will look to follow most other quarterbacks this season in exposing the Patriots defense for big plays and big yards.

The New England secondary has been shredded throughout 2012 but at least some of the blame should fall on the shoulders of an inconsistent pass rush. If the Pats could get more pressure on opposing quarterbacks, then the New England secondary wouldn't be forced into so many tough situations. The Patriots are 17th in the league with only 20 sacks.

But in the end, the secondary has to make more plays than it's been able to this season. The addition of Aqib Talib should help in that regard.
