Fire at Fenway Park leaves 100,000 in damage

Boston firefighters responded to a small fire at Fenway Park Monday morning.

The fire was contained to inside the mailroom in the administrative office area.

Boston fire department spokesman Steve MacDonald said the chief on the scene estimated damage at 30,000, mostly as a result of smoke and water damage.

No injuries were reported.

UPDATE: The Boston Fire Department tweeted that the damage at Fenway appears to be more severe than originally thought:

"The damage estimate at Fenway was increased to 100K once a better assessment was made of water damage to floors 1& 2. Boston Fire Dept. (@BostonFire)"
