Daniels, Celtics agree to 1-year deal

WALTHAM Slowly but surely, the Boston Celtics are getting the band back together for another run this season.
Marquis Daniels will sign a one-year deal with the Celtics, and will likely be in training camp which is scheduled to begin on Friday.

The Boston Globe was the first to report Daniels' return.

His return bodes well for a C's team looking to add talented players despite having limited resources to use on free agents.

A fan favorite with the C's, Daniels has the ability to defend all three perimeter positions which gives the Celtics the kind of versatility that they'll desperately need this season.

However, the C's have yet to get a full season out of Daniels due to injuries. And his most recent injury, a bruised spinal cord, seemingly put his NBA career in doubt.

It was the second time during his time with Boston that he suffered some type of spine-related issue. The first was during the Eastern Conference finals against Orlando in 2010.

Following the bruised spinal cord injury he suffered in February, the Celtics traded him to Sacramento for a 2017 second-round pick.

Daniels hasn't played in an NBA game since that spinal injury, but he did participate in Rajon Rondo's charity basketball game last month at Harvard.

"I'm good," he told CSNNE.com at the time. "I feel pretty good."

Some Patriots kneel, others stand and link arms during national anthem

FOXBORO -- The Patriots took different approaches as the National Anthem played on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. Many, including safety and captain Devin McCourty, took a knee. Others stood and linked arms.

On the opposite sideline, it appeared as though every member of the Texans stood on the sidelines and linked arms.

Those joining McCourty on a knee included Stephon Gilmore, Malcolm Butler, Lawrence Guy, Johnson Bademosi, Alan Branch, Brandon King, Malcom Brown and rookies Deatrich Wise and Adam Butler.

Among those linking arms were Tom Brady, Phillip Dorsett, Cassius Marsh, Matthew Slater, David Harris and Dwayne Allen.
