BOSTON - Charlie Villanueva didnt mind the boos. In fact, he expected them.

After tweeting earlier in the season that Kevin Garnett called him a cancer patient (he suffers from alopecia), Villanueva had a feeling Celtics fans would not react warmly to him during Wednesdays game at TD Garden.

I expect the fans to protect their player, he said before the game. Bostons a good town and they love their sports. I expect the worst. But Im OK with that.

Villanueva said he doesnt mind being dubbed the most hated guy in the room.

At least Im some type of guy, he said.

But he isnt interested in stirring up any more controversy over the situation. He didnt let the jeers bother him and is looking to move on from it.

Im past all this stuff, drama if you want to call it that, he said. Ive been past that. Its just another game.

Villanueva scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds off the bench during the Celtics 86-82 win over the Pistons. There were no technical fouls, no heated arguments between he and Garnett (11 points, 6 rebounds).

When the buzzer sounded, the match up had been just that - another game.

Im not looking for his friendship, Villanueva said. I sleep well at night.
