BOSTON No Chris Pronger for the Flyers and no Adam McQuaid for the Bruins at the pregame warm-up on the TD Garden ice.Pronger is out with depending on who you talk to a bad back, a balky hamstring, a sinus infection or a setback in the broken hand that kept him out for the last month of the season. Danny Syvret will again take his spot in the Philly lineup.McQuaid is out with a strained neck, and has been replaced in the Boston lineup by Shane Hnidy. Hnidy was skating with Tomas Kaberle on the third defensemen pairing, and their minutes could be scaled back even more than it was with the McQuaidKaberle pairing over the first few weeks of the postseason.Jeff Carter was deemed able to play right before the game so the Broad Street Bullies will have their 40-goal scorer back. It's a big addition to their lineup, even if only for the power play finish he could provide. The Bs lines were exactly the same as theyve been in the first two games, and both Tim Thomas and Brian Boucher will get the starts in net for the Bruins and Flyers. Philly coach Peter Laviolette continues to tout the theory that all of the pressure is on the Black and Gold, but its pretty inconceivable that any squad would have their slippers and smoking jacket on when theyre down 2-0 in a best-of-seven series."We're going to go into Boston and have some fun," said Laviolette. "We just put our comfortable slippers on. The pressure, it really gets alleviated a bit when you're down."The action on the ice will tell who has the comfy slippers on once and for all.

Tuesday, Sept. 27: Jumbo Joe energizes Team Canada

Here are the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading, while wondering exactly what “semi-exact” means.

*FOH (Friend of Haggs) Josh Cooper has a piece on Jumbo Joe Thornton bringing an ageless energy to Team Canada.

*If you’re wondering where former B’s farmhand goaltender Jeremy Smith ended up, he’s now with the Colorado Avalanche.

*The Hockey News believes that the Bruins will be back in the playoffs this season after a two-year absence.

*While I appreciate the Hockey News linking to my work, I feel like it’s a key piece of info that I’m the Bruins Insider for CSN New England and not NESN.

*Is Team Europe coach Ralph Krueger the man with the plan to defeat a Team Canada juggernaut in the World Cup of Hockey.

*Dustin Byfuglien had an interesting take on the World Cup after flaming out with Team USA: “It is what it is. I didn’t really enjoy it.”

*For something completely different: this is not your father’s Converse, but it’s a sleek look that the kids are gonna love.
