BOSTON When the Bruins head to Vancouver to begin the Stanley Cup Finals next week, it's going to be a bit of a homecoming for a couple of their players.
Mark Recchis family is from nearby Kamloops, British Columbia, and he said Friday night that he was looking forward to seeing them when the B's arrive on Canada's West Coast to play the Canucks.
Milan Lucic, meanwhile, is a Vancouver native. He spent four days there in February when the Bruins had a break in the schedule prior to their 3-1 victory over the Canucks on Feb. 26, and had his Vancouver Giants junior jersey retired during a trip to the Pacific Coliseum.
A lot of good things have happened to me in Vancouver," said Lucic. "I played for the Vancouver Giants, won a Memorial Cup in Vancouver and here we go.
Its a dream come true, definitely. Just to make the Stanley Cup Finals is a dream come true, but to play it in your hometown makes it extra special."
