WILMINGTON, Mass. Zdeno Chara addressed the media masses on Tuesday morning at Ristuccia Arena as the Bruins start cranking things up for a much-anticipated playoff series against the hated Montreal Canadiens. The Bs captain kept things short, sweet and simple, and likely wont deviate far from that with the Montreal media contingent expected to be present at all times over the next few weeks. While Chara was rattling off curt answers to all questions, he also revealed he managed to get in contact with Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty after reaching out to him several times. Chara had put effort into contacting the fallen Habs forward after driving the scrappy forward into the Bell Centre's unforgiving turnbuckle a scary hitthat left Pacioretty unconscious on the ice and turned the Montreal fan base into a maelstrom of anger and revenge-seekers.Yes, I did, said Chara when asked if hed made contact with the Habs player. Weve talked.Chara didnt reveal what was said in that discussion with Pacioretty, but said that hes instead focused on hockey with the Habs and the Bell Centre lunacy standing between him and his first Stanley Cup.Its the playoffs," Chara said. "Its very exciting. Its what we all play for. Its been like that for years. Its not going to be any different. Basically we all just have to focus on the game and play our game. Its the playoffs. Its a new season. All our focus should be on the game. Everybody is really pumped up, but you cant have that affect you because its Montreal and its the first round. You just have to focus on what you need to do.
