Bruins offering free concessions in January

BOSTON -- Bruins president Cam Neely and general manager Peter Chiarelli officially opened the 2013 Bruins regular season with the first day of training camp on Sunday afternoon, and had a simple message for Black and Gold Nation.

First of all Id like to apologize to all our fans, season-ticket holders and premium clients for the lengthy lockout, said Neely. I dont know if any of us expected it would go for this long, but fortunately we can start talking about hockey and hockey games.

Neely went on to announce that the Bruins organization will be offering free concessions to all fans during the five home games in the month of January at TD Garden, 25 percent off team merchandise at the Souvenir Store in North Station, and many other features and gifts

These are things that hopefully our fans can appreciate because Lord knows that we appreciate our fans, said Neely.

For Opening Night against the Rangers at TD Garden on Saturday, fans will have the chance to receive game-worn players jerseys through a Shirts Off Our Backs promotion. Fans will also have the opportunity to win a number of prizes, including the chance to fly with the Bruins on their team charter to an away game and the chance to visit the Bruins locker room postgame.

Celtics take Semi Ojeleye at No. 37

The Celtics drafted SMU junior wing Semi Ojeleye with the 32nd overall pick of Thursday’s draft.

Ojeleye, whom The Ringer’s draft guide compared to current Celtic Jae Crowder, averaged 18.9 points and 6.8 rebounds a game in his final season at SMU. He was considered one of CSNNE’s pre-draft sleepers.

After taking Jayson Tatum and Ojeleye, the C’s have two picks remaining. They’ll select 53rd and 56th overall.
