Bruins call up goalie Khudobin from Providence

The Boston Bruins have called up Providence Bruins goalie Anton Khudobin. He will join the team for their Tuesday morning skate, and be available for that night's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Khoudobin is 21-19-3 in 44 games with the P-Bruins, recording two shutouts. He has a 2.61 goals against average and .919 save percentage.

Unlike current backup goaltender to Tim Thomas, Marty Turco, Khudobin is available for the postseason should Tuukka Rask be deemed not healthy enough.

Khudobin has six career NHL appearances with the Minnesota Wild. his first tart came on February 6, 2010, a 2-1 win over the Flyers. His first shutout came on January 16, 2011, a 4-0 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

Khudobin was originally drafted by Minnesota in the seventh round (206th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded to the Bruins on February 28, 2011 for Jeff Penner and Mikko Lehtonen.
