Boston Red Sox

It didn't happen until the 14th inning, when Chicago put in a utility infielder to pitch, but the Red Sox' bats finally came alive Wednesday night. Will this be the spark that turns things around?
Jackie Bradley Jr. slaps a double down the right-field line off infielder Leury Garcia, pressed into service because Chicago ran out of pitchers, giving the Red Sox a 6-4, 14-inning victory.
With the hitters once again struggling, Red Sox relievers held the fort with eight innings of four-hit, one-run ball until Boston finally pushed across enough runs for a 6-4, 14-inning victory.
