The New York Yankees have claimed former Red Sox reliever Justin Thomas.
The left-hander was designated for assignment to make room for Daniel Nava on the Red Sox Major League roster.
Thomas signed with the team in November after being released by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The 28-year-old had a 7.71 ERA in seven games for the Red Sox this season.
