Share

On day later, Big Papi rests.

David Ortiz gets a much deserved day off Sunday afternoon after blasting his 500th career home run into the right field bleachers at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. The Red Sox will look to take the rubber game of this three-game set against the Rays with left hander Rich Hill making his first major league start in six years.

The Rays will send another lefty Drew Smyly to the mound to face Hill. Smyly, who has missed significant time this season, is 2-2 with a 3.59 ERA in eight starts this season.
