Talking Points: Rosales, Gonzalez lift Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Here are the Talking Points from the Red Sox' 8-0 loss to the Rangers Saturday.

STAR OF THE GAME: Adam Rosales

The Rangers' second baseman tied a career high with four hits, collecting four singles. He also scored two runs.

HONORABLE MENTION: Chi Chi Gonzalez

Making his major league debut, Gonzalez was wild (five walks), but held the Red Sox hitless over the first five innings. After allowing doubles to two of the first four hitters he faced, he was lifted.

GOAT OF THE GAME: Brock Holt

Holt is versatile, but Saturday night wasn't his night. In his first three plate appearances, he hit into two force outs, then struck out with runners at second and third. He also committed two errors in the field, in addition to not unloading a throw to the plate in time.

TURNING POINT: The four-run fourth by Texas made the score 5-0 and featured some sloppy defensive play by the Red Sox, adding a  demorazling aspect to the setback.

BY THE NUMBERS: 15

David Ortiz, returning from a two-game absence, was 2-for-4 and extended his hitting streak at Globe Life Park to 15 games.
