BOSTON -- Here are the Talking Points from the Red Sox' 10-8 loss to the Chicago White Sox.
STAR OF THE GAME: Adam Eaton
The White Sox' center fielder, taking over at DH for the night, collected three hits while knocking in two and scoring two runs. It took him just three pitches to score the game's first run following his leadoff triple.
HONORABLE MENTION: Matt Albers
The former Red Sox reliever took over for John Danks and settled things down for the White Sox, tossing an inning and two-thirds of scoreless relief from the fifth through the end of the sixth.
GOAT OF THE GAME: Joe Kelly
There was bad pitching all around on both sides, but Kelly was the biggest offender. He trailed 3-0 after five pitches and couldn't get out of the fourth inning before being tagged for five runs on seven hits.
Boston Red Sox
TURNING POINT: The Sox had two on and two out in the seventh with the tying run at first when Ryan Hanigan was rung up on a pitch that appeared to be high and out of the strike zone.
BY THE NUMBERS: 3
Mike Napoli was ejected for the third time this season when he disputed a called third strike to end the first inning. It marked the second time that he's been ejected in the early innings. He was also tossed in the second on June 28.
