After a weekend of bad news -- on the field, off the field, in the trainer's room -- the Red Sox finally got a little good news Monday.
And good news it is.
Multiple sources have confirmed to CSNNE.com that Dustin Pedroia's left wrist injury isn't as serious as first feared. The wrist is inflamed, not broken, and Pedroia won't have to be placed on the disabled list.
Pedroia, who was hurt in a takeout slide by Milwaukee's Carlos Gomez at Fenway Park during the season's first weekend, had returned to Boston for medical tests on Monday while the Sox traveled from New York to Chicago.
