Are the Red Sox on the verge of a youth movement?
Gary Tanguay hopes so.
"I don't think this team is as bad as they are," said Tanguay. "But I think it's time to rebuild, and it's time to focus on youth."
Trenni Kusnierek doesn't think the Red Sox organization is ready to turn to the young players.
Right now, I feel like you're not able to showcase your younger players because you're going out and doing things like signing Stephen Drew," said Kusnierek. "So you're not developing Xander Bogaerts at shortstop, you're not bringing in Mookie Betts.
"I feel like [the Red Sox] are so afraid of admitting defeat that they end up hurting themselves in the long run."
