In the midst of a stretch where the Boston Red Sox needed a starter to step in with a quality outing, Rich Porcello answered the bell on Wednesday night.
On Sports Tonight, Dan Shaughnessy explained why Porcello's start was "exactly what they needed."
"The bullpen was so demolished and this gives everybody a blow and now you have a day off [Thursday]. You could get back on course," said Shaughnessy. "There's some big things coming up because you've got Masterson Friday, Miley Saturday and there's a lot on those two."
