After David Ortiz's picnic table press conference in Fort Myers,Fla., on Wednesday, where he talked about the "haters" who "disprespect" him, Boston Globe columnist Dan Shaughnessy continued the discussion with Big Papi in the clubhouse.

Some accounts called that discussion "heated" or a "run-in." Sure, there were plenty of f-bombs from Ortiz, but Shaughnessy, talking to Michael Felger on Sports Tonight, didn't really see it that way.

Here's what he wrote in the Globe.

"We went back and forth for almost 10 minutes. He acknowleged he was hurt and frustrated by things he had heard on talk shows. But hate? No way. If it makes him a better hitter, then Ortiz can knock himself out cursing the imaginary enemies, but nobody in Boston hates David Ortiz."

And Shaughnessy told Felger: "It was actually an amazing day because yesterday was the day for media training for Red Sox employees. On this day, there was this tremendous explosion of f-bombs. .. I thought it was productive for the most part. I tried to explain the Felger & Mazz show to him. Four hours of programing. They're going to do a lot of nonsense. Don't worry about it. I thought [the conversation] ended fairly well. It was an eye opener."

Felger, co-host of the aforementioned Felger & Mazz on 98.5 The Sports Hub, has some advice for Big Papi.

"I would never tell anyone not to listen to Felger & Mazz," he said. "But David, do yourself a favor, on the way to the ballpark, listen to music, bro."
