Ross leads Sox over Rays, 5-3

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- It took six pitchers, and four RBI night from Cody Ross, but the Red Sox managed a 5-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.
Ross worked a bases-loaded walk, hit a solo homer and drove in two inusrance runs in the eighth inning, accounting for all but one of the team's runs. Marlon Byrd added a solo homer -- his first with the Sox and first in 127 at-bats -- to account for the other Boston run.
Felix Doubront improved to 4-1 with 5 23 innings of work, allowing just one earned run.
When Doubront left, manager Bobby Valentine put his bullpen to work, at one point using four different relievers to record one out each.
Alfredo Aceves got the final four outs of the game, notching his eighth save.
The Red Sox have won four of six against Tampa this season and have six wins in their last seven games overall.
